Jinheungak 진흥각
Gongju · Gongsanseong & Jemincheon Old Town · Meal
A long-standing Chinese-Korean restaurant in the old town, the sort of place where residents have been eating jjamppong, the spicy seafood noodle soup, for decades. Alongside it the menu carries jajangmyeon, black bean noodles, and tangsuyuk, crisp pork in a sweet sauce, and sharing a few dishes is the usual way to eat. The dining room is plain and practical, with plenty of families and groups, and the focus is on the food rather than decor.
Prices are modest. Vegetarians will find few options, since the broths use pork or seafood.
It is a short walk from Jemincheon in the central old town, about ten minutes from Sanseong Market. Nearby street parking is limited. (Show a driver: 진흥각)
