About Korea Trip Map

We build your Korea itinerary for you.

What this site does

The most tedious part of planning a trip is not picking the places you want to see. It is fitting them into a day without wasting hours getting between them. You end up with a map open, checking distances and travel times one by one, and half a day is gone before the plan exists. Korea Trip Map does that math for you. Choose who you are traveling with, how long you have and a few interests, and you get a day-by-day timetable grouped by area.

It is built for visitors from abroad. Every place shows its English name with the Korean name beside it, so you can show a taxi driver, match a sign or search in Korean map apps. Each place also links to both Naver Map, which is the most reliable map app inside Korea, and Google Maps.

Where the data comes from

The planner currently covers Seoul, Busan, Jeju, Gyeongju, Jeonju, and Gangneung, with 420 places in total, and more regions are being added. The information is compiled from the Korea Tourism Organization, local government tourism guides and Naver local search business listings. For each place we judged the typical visit time, rough cost, amount of walking, whether it is indoors, and how well it suits each kind of traveler. Those judgments are what let a trip with parents favor low-walking spots and a rainy day lean indoors.

How an itinerary is built

First, every place is scored against your choices. Traveler type and interests matter most, while budget, season and where you are staying nudge the scores up or down. Next, we pick as many high-scoring areas as you have days and order them so neighboring areas follow one another. Within a day we fill a standard frame of morning sight, lunch, afternoon sight, cafe, dinner and night view, favoring places close to the previous stop. Travel times are estimated from the straight-line distance between two points and split into walking, public transit and car. We add some margin compared with real routes.

Limits

Travel times are estimates, and opening hours and prices change often. Because the places were chosen by people, some good ones may be missing. Please check each place's official information or a map app before you go. We are an independent site and are not affiliated with the Korea Tourism Organization, Naver or Google.

If you spot a missing place or wrong information, email musicbj0112@gmail.com and we will check and update it.

How we earn money

This site is supported by advertising. Ads are placed apart from the content, and we do not accept payment to add a place to an itinerary or move it up. The order of recommendations is decided only by your choices and by location.
