Gangneung Solhyang Arboretum 강릉솔향수목원
Gangneung · Downtown & Jungang Market · Parks & nature
A forested garden of Korean pines, ferns and wildflowers, this arboretum is a quiet place for a morning walk, far from the beach crowds. A path follows a stream and climbs gradually through tall trees, with benches and small bridges. In spring, new leaves and blossoms freshen the whole slope, and in summer the shade is cooling.
Allow around an hour and a half. Wear sturdy shoes, since the trails can be steep. It is closed Mondays, and hours may change.
Pair it with Terarosa for coffee afterward.
It is a 15- to 20-minute drive from downtown; a taxi from Gangneung Station (강릉역) is easiest. Public transport is limited. Parking is on site.
