Dokssujeong Garden 독수정 원림
Damyang · Soswaewon, Sigyeongjeong & Gasa Literature District · Sights
Dokssujeong is a small pavilion and grove said to have been built by Jeon Sin-min, a Goryeo-era official who retreated here. Few tourists find it, so you often have it to yourself. The setting is simple: old trees, a quiet slope and a modest wooden building.
It is best for travelers who want an unhurried and uncrowded stop. There is no entry fee. Signs are in Korean and the access road is narrow, so a car is needed.
Plan about 40 minutes. It is not suited to small children because of the uneven ground. Be respectful of the surroundings.
By car about 30 minutes from Damyang town; follow your map app carefully since the road is narrow. (Show a driver: 독수정 원림)
