Soswaewon is a private garden created by the scholar Yang San-bo after he left government service, and it is designated as a place of scenic beauty. A stream is led through the grounds and flows under a wall, with bamboo and trees around small buildings such as Gwangpunggak and Jewoldang. The design aims to add as little as possible to nature.

The entry fee is small and hours may change with the season. The garden is compact, and an hour is enough, longer if you linger. Take your shoes off on the pavilion floors and follow staff instructions.

Getting there
