Beolgyo, a town not far away, is known across Korea for its cockles, and this restaurant in front of the fortress turns them into a full set meal. You get seasoned raw cockles, steamed ones and several side dishes. The seasoned cockles are red and spicy, so they can be a shock if you are not used to heat, and children may do better with the plain steamed ones.

Portions are shared, so it suits couples, families and groups of friends. The price is in the range of fifteen thousand won per person and may change. After a morning on the stone lanes, the meal is a satisfying reward.

Menus are in Korean, and pointing helps.
