Gen. Im Gyeong-eop Memorial Pavilion 임경업장군비각
Suncheon · Naganeupseong Folk Village · Sights
This small shrine-like pavilion stands in an alley inside the fortress and honors Im Gyeong-eop, a Joseon-era official remembered in connection with the building of Nagan's stone walls. It is not a big attraction, and the visit lasts 10 or 15 minutes, but it helps you picture who built the walls and why. The stone monument has inscriptions in Chinese characters, and information panels may be in Korean.
The setting is calm, with a small yard and views of the thatch roofs nearby. Take your time to read the signs with a translation app. It is best seen as a short stop on the way between larger sights, rather than a destination of its own.
Inside the walls of Naganeupseong Folk Village, a few minutes' walk from the gate. Enter through the main ticket office. (Show a driver: 임경업장군비각)
