Suncheon Bay National Garden 순천만국가정원
Suncheon · Suncheon Bay Wetland & National Garden · Parks & nature
Built for the 2013 International Garden Expo and later named Korea's first national garden, this is a city-sized park of themed gardens, ponds and lawns. Different sections imitate gardens from several countries, and the Dutch garden and the Dream Bridge, decorated with children's drawings, are popular photo stops. Spring brings tulips and blossoms, summer fills the lake gardens with greenery, and in autumn a chrysanthemum display is staged.
The paths are flat and wide, but the total distance is real, so wear comfortable shoes and plan on three hours or more. The garden has an east gate and a west gate, each with its own car park.
A city bus from Suncheon Station takes roughly 25 minutes, and a taxi about 15 to 20 minutes. Ask for the east gate or west gate depending on your plan. (Show a driver: 순천만국가정원)
