Jeolla Gamyeong 전라감영
Jeonju · Gaekridan-gil & Downtown · Sights
Jeolla Gamyeong was the administrative headquarters for the entire Jeolla region in the Joseon period, and the restored compound gives a sense of that authority. Main halls such as Seonhwadang sit on raised wooden floors where visitors may sit and rest, and the courtyards are open and uncrowded. Exhibits explain how the government worked, and entrance is free.
At night, soft lighting turns the buildings into an atmospheric setting, which suits an evening stroll. It is much quieter than the Hanok Village, so it works as a break from the crowds, and English guide materials may be available on request.
It is in downtown Jeonju, about ten minutes' walk from the Hanok Village and just next to Gaekridan-gil. Take a bus or taxi toward Gaeksa. (Show a driver: 전라감영)
