Ungjin Baekje History Hall 웅진백제역사관

Gongju · Muryeong Tomb, Museum & Gomanaru · Museums & exhibits

Museums & exhibitsHistory & palacesArt & cultureIndoor

A small exhibition hall near the tomb site that summarizes the period when Gongju, then called Ungjin, served as the Baekje capital. Models of the fortress and tombs, short videos and panels explain why the court moved here after losing its earlier capital, and what daily life and burial customs looked like. It is a modest place, best treated as a thirty-minute primer that makes the tombs and museum easier to understand.

It is also free, air-conditioned, and often quiet, so it works as a break in the middle of the day. Many labels are Korean only, so using a translation app is useful. Opening hours follow the tomb site and may change.

Getting there

It is located at the tomb complex entrance, ten minutes by taxi from the old town. A parking lot serves the whole tomb area. (Show a driver: 웅진백제역사관)
