Hasla Art World 하슬라아트월드
Gangneung · Jeongdongjin & Simgok · Museums & exhibits
Perched on a hillside above the sea, this private art complex mixes an open-air sculpture garden with indoor galleries of contemporary pieces, and the setting is part of the appeal: a quirky place where you stroll uphill, turn a corner and the ocean opens in front of you. Pieces are playful, bold and often photogenic, which makes it a favorite of younger visitors and couples. Allow two hours, because the grounds are larger than they look.
Wear shoes with grip, and expect to climb. Ticket prices and hours may change.
From Gangneung Station (강릉역) take a taxi, about 25 minutes, or take a bus toward Jeongdongjin and walk uphill. Parking is available.
