Sand Clock Park & Jeongdongjin Time Museum 모래시계공원·정동진시간박물관
Gangneung · Jeongdongjin & Simgok · Sights
On a bluff above Jeongdongjin sits a very large hourglass that is turned over on a set schedule each year, and the park around it has cliffside views of the coast. Next to it, the time museum collects clocks, watches and other timekeepers, with a train theme that nods to the area's railway story. Together they make a fun, easy stop that children enjoy, and it takes about an hour.
Fees and hours may change, so check at the entrance. Wear a jacket in winter as the wind off the sea is strong.
It is a 10-minute walk or a short taxi from Jeongdongjin Station (정동진역); the signs point uphill. Parking is available at the park.
