Sohwang Sand Dunes 소황사구

Boryeong · Muchangpo, Nampo & Jukdo · Parks & nature

Parks & natureNature & parksPhoto spotsOutdoor

A coastal dune system shaped by wind over centuries, one of the few of its kind on this stretch of coast. Wooden walkways and marked paths lead across the sand, and the dunes shelter native plants adapted to salt and wind, which is why walkers are asked to stay on the trail. In spring and autumn the view over the sea is clear and the light is soft.

The area is quiet, with no shops or cafes, so bring water. It suits nature lovers and photographers, and it is rarely crowded. Wear closed shoes because the sand gets everywhere, and a car is the only practical way to reach it.
