Isunsin Square 이순신광장
Yeosu · Old Downtown, Isunsin Square & Nangman Pocha · Sights

A broad harbor plaza named for Admiral Yi Sun-sin, the naval hero who defended this coast in the 1590s. A replica turtle ship, the armored vessel he is famous for, rests near the water, and the open pavement makes a natural gathering point for evening strolls. On many weekend nights buskers set up speakers and small crowds form.
The square is free, flat and wheelchair-friendly, so it suits any age. Many visitors come here first to get a feel for the harbor, then wander toward the pocha tents and Jongpo seafront as the lights come on. Cafes and convenience stores ring the square, which helps if you need water or a toilet break.
It is a 15-minute walk from the old downtown bus stops, and taxis from Yeosu-Expo Station (여수엑스포역) take about 10 minutes. Public parking is limited nearby on weekends.
