Jinnamgwan Hall 진남관
Yeosu · Old Downtown, Isunsin Square & Nangman Pocha · Sights

This grand wooden hall belonged to the Joseon-era naval command that Admiral Yi once led, and it ranks as a national treasure. Its roof is held up by a forest of massive pillars, and the interior floor is wide enough to feel more like a barn than a temple. Information panels explain the fleet's history, though English text may be limited, so a translation app helps.
The surrounding grounds are quiet and shaded, a pleasant break from the busy harbor. Restoration work has taken place over the years, and access to the interior can vary, so check on arrival whether you can step inside. Entry has generally been free or low-cost.
It is about a 10-minute walk uphill from Isunsin Square, or a short taxi ride from the old downtown. (Show a driver: 진남관)
