Jongpo Marine Park and Hamel Lighthouse 종포해양공원·하멜등대
Yeosu · Old Downtown, Isunsin Square & Nangman Pocha · Night view

This is the waterfront many Koreans think of when they hear the phrase Yeosu night sea. A long promenade and breakwater run beside the harbor, ending at a small red lighthouse whose lamp reflects across the water. From the end of the breakwater you can see the lights of the bridge, the cable car cabins gliding overhead and fishing boats bobbing in the dark.
Couples stroll slowly, and families sit on the steps with convenience-store snacks. The walk is flat and short, so it suits all ages, and it is free. Wind off the water can be chilly in cooler months, so bring a layer.
Photos work best with a steady hand or a small tripod.
It is a 5-minute walk from Isunsin Square along the harbor. Get off at the Jongpo stop if using a city bus. (Show a driver: 종포해양공원)
