Hwapo Beach 화포해변
Suncheon · Suncheon Bay Wetland & National Garden · Parks & nature

Hwapo is a sleepy seaside village on the same bay as Waon, but it draws only a fraction of the visitors. A short shore walk, a few fishing boats and wide mudflats give you an easy, unhurried evening, and you can often find a quiet stretch of sea wall for the sunset. It suits couples and photographers who dislike crowds.
Facilities are basic, with a handful of small seafood restaurants and little else, so bring snacks and water. The shore is mud rather than sand, so shoes matter if you wander down to the flats, and tides vary a lot through the month. The road in is narrow, which is another reason a car is easiest.
About 35 minutes by car from the center of Suncheon, and not served well by buses. A round-trip taxi booked through your hotel is the simplest option. (Show a driver: 화포해변)
