Jogyesan Provincial Park — Suncheon Jogyesan, Songgwangsa & Seonamsa

Jogyesan is the green mountain that separates two of Korea's most famous temples, and the park's trail network links them over a pass. The classic hike runs across the ridge from one temple to the other, taking about three to four hours one way depending on your pace. Along the route you pass forest, streams and clearings, with a mix of earth trail and stone steps.

Wear proper shoes, carry water and food, and start early, because there are few services en route. Once at the other side you need transport back, so plan a taxi or a second car. Spring and autumn are the nicest seasons.

Leashed dogs are allowed on many trails.
