Seungseongyo Bridge 선암사 승선교

Suncheon · Jogyesan, Songgwangsa & Seonamsa · Sights

SightsHistory & palacesPhoto spotsOutdoorPet-friendly

This is a single-arch stone bridge on the approach to Seonamsa, shaped like a rainbow and set above a mountain stream. A pavilion appears to sit inside the arch from the right angle, which is the photograph everyone takes. The bridge is a designated cultural property and is not for walking on, so watch it from the bank.

The surrounding forest gives it a different look in every season, with fresh green in spring, deep shade in summer and bright leaves in autumn. The walk from the car park is short, about ten minutes on a gentle path. Free to view, although you may need to check where the temple ticket office stands.
