Opened in a cluster of repurposed buildings next to Gyeongbokgung, the Seoul branch of the national modern art museum stages large exhibitions of Korean and international contemporary work. Exhibitions change often, and each has its own fee or free period, so check the official website. English labels and brochures are generally available.

The museum is a pleasant stop on rainy days and often stays open into the evening on certain days. Cafes and a gift shop inside are good for a rest. Opening hours and prices may change, so confirm before you go.

Getting there

Anguk Station (안국역), Line 3 Exit 1, is about a five-minute walk. Bus stops outside the museum serve downtown routes.
