Mangwon Hangang Park is a stretch of riverside lawn, cycle path and plaza on the north bank of the Han River in western Seoul. It is more relaxed than the big parks of Yeouido, and it is a good place to watch the sunset on a clear evening. Locals sit on mats with takeaway food, cyclists pass along the riverside track, In summer the shade is limited, so bring a hat.

Facilities may close in winter, and flooding can restrict access after heavy rain.

Getting there

Mangwon Station (망원역), Line 6, Exit 1, is about a ten-minute walk to the park. Walk south through the market area to the river.
