Mangwon Market 망원시장
Seoul · Hongdae, Yeonnam & Mangwon · Meal
Mangwon Market is a neighborhood food market whose narrow lanes are crowded with stalls selling croquettes, fried chicken in sweet sauce, fish cakes, hand-cut noodle soup and fresh produce. Unlike the better known central markets, most customers are local residents, and a visit gives a genuine impression of everyday shopping. Some stalls accept only cash or local payment cards, so bring coins.
A line usually forms at the most popular croquette stall. Stalls close early in the evening, and some are shut on certain days.
Mangwon Station (망원역), Line 6, Exit 2, is a few minutes' walk. The market stretches along Poeun-ro.
