Gyeongui Line Forest Park, Yeonnam-dong 연남동 경의선숲길
Seoul · Hongdae, Yeonnam & Mangwon · Sights
Built over a disused railway line, this long, narrow park runs through Yeonnam-dong and is better known by its nickname, Yeontral Park, a play on Central Park. Paths wind between lawns, benches and flower beds, and on sunny afternoons residents spread out picnic blankets under the trees. Small shops, bakeries and ramen counters face the park on both sides, so a stroll tends to turn into a snack crawl.
In spring the cherry trees draw large crowds, and in winter the quiet suits a short walk. Shop hours vary and some close on certain days.
Hongik University Station (홍대입구역), Line 2, Airport Railroad and Gyeongui-Jungang Line, Exit 3, is next to the park entrance.
