Naksan Park and Ihwa Mural Village 낙산공원·이화벽화마을
Seoul · Jongno, Bukchon & Palaces · Night view
Naksan Park climbs the hill on the eastern edge of the old city, and the Seoul Fortress Wall runs along its ridge. A path follows the wall past stone gates and viewpoints, with the city spread below. On the slope is Ihwa Mural Village, an old neighborhood known for colorful murals painted on stairs and walls.
The park is lit after dark, and the night view toward Dongdaemun and Namsan is memorable. The streets are residential, so keep voices low and avoid blocking doorways. Expect steep stairs and some uneven paths, and wear comfortable shoes.
Some murals have faded over the years.
Hyehwa Station (혜화역), Line 4 Exit 2, is a short walk uphill. Take the signed path to the park entrance.
