Andongjang 안동장

Seoul · Dongdaemun & Euljiro · Meal

MealFood & marketsIndoor

Andongjang is a veteran Chinese restaurant in Euljiro with a loyal following for oyster jjamppong. Jjamppong is a spicy noodle soup with seafood, and the oyster version adds plump oysters when they are in season, which makes the broth richer. The red broth is hot and briny, with a smoky wok aroma, and a bowl is enough for a full meal.

Other dishes include sweet and sour pork and fried rice. The restaurant is plain and fast-moving, and lunchtime lines can be long. English may not be available, so photos help.

Oysters are best in winter, and the dish can be very spicy. Expect a weekly closing day, and confirm hours and prices before you go.

Getting there

Euljiro 3-ga Station (을지로3가역), Lines 2 and 3, is a short walk. The restaurant sits on a side street near Hipjiro.
