Bijarim Forest 비자림
Jeju · Hamdeok & Gujwa · Parks & nature
A forest of nutmeg-yew trees, some about five hundred to eight hundred years old, with wide flat paths through shaded woodland. The main loop takes about an hour and is suited to people who prefer an easy walk, including strollers and wheelchairs for much of the route. The forest smells strongest after rain, and the air feels cool even in summer.
Cuckoos and woodpeckers may be heard along the trail. A small ticket fee applies, and some areas may close to protect the trees. Schedules are not guaranteed all year round.
It is about 50 minutes by car from Jeju Airport, with a parking lot at the entrance. Buses toward Gujwa stop near the forest, and a taxi is useful for the final stretch. (Show a driver: 비자림)
