Hamdeok Beach 함덕해수욕장
Jeju · Hamdeok & Gujwa · Parks & nature
A broad white-sand beach with shallow, clear water that stays calm for a long way out, ideal for small children and for first-time swimmers. Beside the beach, Seoubong hill rises with a short trail that rewards climbers with a view of the whole bay and the neighboring coast. The beachfront has a promenade, cafes and restaurants, and the sea is warm enough for swimming from roughly July to August.
After dark, lights on the promenade make it a relaxed evening walk. It is free to enter, with lifeguard areas in summer. An express bus from the airport takes around 40 minutes.
It is about 40 minutes by car from Jeju Airport, with a large public lot. Airport buses and city buses on the east coast route stop at Hamdeok. (Show a driver: 함덕해수욕장)
