Damyang Wetland 담양습지
Damyang · Myeongokheon, Songgangjeong & Myeonangjeong · Parks & nature
This wetland was formed by the upper Yeongsan River and combines reed beds, shallow channels, and bamboo groves. Birdwatchers come in winter for migratory species, while ordinary visitors come for the flat boardwalk and open sky. The paths are level and suited to families with strollers, and the park is spacious enough for a long unhurried stroll.
Entry costs nothing. Shade is limited, so bring a hat and water in warm months. Interpretive signs mostly appear in Korean.
It is also a good place for photography at golden hour. Because it sits away from the town, plan about 80 minutes to walk and relax.
By car or taxi from Damyang town, about 20 minutes west. A free car park serves the entrance. (Show a driver: 담양습지)
