Songgangjeong Pavilion 송강정
Damyang · Myeongokheon, Songgangjeong & Myeonangjeong · Sights

This pavilion on a gentle hill is traditionally linked to Jeong Cheol, a Joseon-era official and poet who is said to have stayed here after stepping down and wrote part of his famous verse here. The building is small and plain, but its setting above fields is peaceful and it gives you a feel for the scholar's retreat style. Nobody charges for entry.
A short, moderately steep walk up leads to the viewpoint, so it takes only about 30 to 40 minutes. A poetry stone and signboards explain the story in Korean. Watch your step on the wooden floor and follow posted rules.
By car or taxi from Damyang town, about 15 minutes. A small car park sits at the foot of the hill. (Show a driver: 송강정)
