Mido Dabang Tea House 미도다방
Daegu · Jung-gu Old Downtown · Cafe
Step through a narrow gate in the Jingolmok alley and you reach one of the last classic Korean tea houses, running for over forty years. The menu centers on ssanghwa-cha, a thick herbal tea with egg yolk, served with crispy rice crackers and nuts. The room is dim and wood-paneled, with older customers chatting at low tables, and the owners keep the old atmosphere deliberately.
Try also sweet jujube or ginger tea. It is a good escape from the heat or the cold. It can be hard for beginners to appreciate the strong herbal taste, but it is a cultural experience worth one cup.
From Banwoldang Station (Lines 1 and 2), walk about five minutes. The alley is too narrow for cars. (Show a driver: 미도다방)
