Yangnyeongsi Korean Medicine Museum 약령시한의약박물관
Daegu · Jung-gu Old Downtown · Museums & exhibits
Daegu has run a medicinal-herb market for more than three and a half centuries, and this small museum sits in the middle of it. Inside, a full-scale reconstruction of an old herb warehouse, a pharmacy and a decoction kitchen lets you walk through a street of Joseon-era trade. Cases hold hundreds of dried roots and seeds, and you can often smell and touch a few samples.
Hands-on corners let visitors try traditional foot soaks or tea tasting on some days, though programs change. Outside, the lane smells of ginseng and licorice while herb shops stack sacks on the pavement. English is limited here, so use a translation app on the labels.
Walk seven minutes from Banwoldang Station (Lines 1 and 2). A small lot sits behind the museum, but the lanes are narrow. (Show a driver: 약령시한의약박물관)
