Wanggeomi Sikdang 왕거미식당
Daegu · Jung-gu Old Downtown · Meal
Mungtigi, thick slices of raw beef eaten with sesame oil and seasoning, is a Daegu specialty that can be hard to find elsewhere, and this old Dongin-dong restaurant has made it for decades. The cuts are served chilled, usually with a dipping paste, garlic and perilla leaf, and sometimes alongside grilled beef for those who prefer cooked meat. It opens in the evening only and can run out of meat early, so arrive at the start of dinner service.
Eating raw meat always carries some risk, so only order it if you are comfortable. Prices are on the higher side, and bookings are difficult; waiting lists are common.
Walk about ten minutes from Gyeongdae Hospital Station on Subway Line 2, or take a short taxi. Parking is very limited. (Show a driver: 왕거미식당)
