Nakyeong Jjimgalbi (Main Branch) 낙영찜갈비 본점
Daegu · Jung-gu Old Downtown · Meal
Dongin-dong's famous braised-rib alley is packed with restaurants serving jjimgalbi, chunks of beef short rib simmered in a fiery sauce loaded with garlic and dried chili. This longtime restaurant comes out with a dented metal pot full of tender meat, rice cakes and vegetables. It is intensely spicy by design, so ask whether they can make it milder; some places will, but not all.
Serving sizes are generous, so parties of two or three can share one pot. Locals consider this dish a Daegu comfort food, and the heat is a point of pride. Prices are moderate per person and queues build at weekends.
From Subway Line 1, get off at Chilseong Market or Sincheon Station and walk about ten minutes. Alley parking is tight, so a nearby public lot is better. (Show a driver: 낙영찜갈비)
