Jukdo Beach 죽도해변
Yangyang · Jukdo, Ingu & Namae · Parks & nature
Jukdo is the beach that put Yangyang on the surfing map. Rows of surf shops line the road, boards stand against walls, and wetsuited beginners wade out in the morning. The waves are generally forgiving, and the mood is relaxed and friendly.
Even if you do not surf, watching is entertaining, and sunset on the sand is lovely. If you want a lesson, book ahead, especially for weekends and summer. The beach is free.
Lanes in the village are narrow and can jam, so arrive early. The small island of Jukdo, with its pavilion, is at one end of the beach and can be climbed in minutes.
Park in the public lot on Ingu-jungang-gil and walk. Buses along the coast stop at Ingu, but schedules are sparse. (Show a driver: 죽도해변)
