Yonghwasa Temple 용화사
Tongyeong · Mireuk Island & Cable Car · Sights

Yonghwasa is an old temple on the lower slope of Mireuksan, quiet compared to the busy viewpoints above it. Cherry trees and a ginkgo stand in front of the main hall, giving color in both spring and autumn. Because it is close to the cable car's lower station, many people stop here before or after the ride.
Entry is free, and visitors are expected to dress modestly and keep their voices low near worship halls. Paths are short and gentle, so it works for older travelers. A small stone Buddha and bell pavilion add to the setting.
Spend half an hour, then continue along the coast, and you will be back in town within minutes.
It is on the lower slope of Mireuksan, about 10 minutes by taxi from the old town and close to the cable car lower station. (Show a driver: 용화사)
