Hallyeo Waterway Cable Car 한려수도조망케이블카
Tongyeong · Mireuk Island & Cable Car · Fun & activities
This cable car is famous in Korea for its long route, rising from the foot of Mireuksan to near the summit. As the cabin climbs, the harbor and sea open out, and from the upper station the Hallyeo Waterway islands stretch in layers toward Hansando. On clear days the view is the most popular in the city.
Cabins are standing-room, so strollers must be folded, and a free parking lot at the lower station fills fast in peak season. The ride plus queueing can take close to two hours, so early morning or late afternoon is calmer. Strong winds may suspend service, so check the same day at the ticket window.
The lower station is in Donam-dong; take a city bus or taxi from the old town, roughly 15 minutes, and use the free car park. (Show a driver: 한려수도조망케이블카)
