Oeongchi Beach 외옹치해변
Sokcho · Daepo Port & Oeongchi · Parks & nature

Tucked between rocky headlands, this beach is much smaller than the city's main shoreline, which means fewer people and a calmer feel. The sand is soft and the water clear on sunny days. Swimming is only permitted in the official summer season with lifeguards on duty, so follow the flags and warning signs at other times.
Out of season it is simply a pretty spot to sit and watch waves roll in, and many visitors detour to it when walking the coastal path. There are few facilities beyond basic restrooms, so bring water and snacks. Rules and opening dates may change.
Reach it on foot from Daepo Port in about 10 minutes, or by taxi from downtown Sokcho in around 15. (Show a driver: 외옹치해변)
