Daepo Port 대포항
Sokcho · Daepo Port & Oeongchi · Sights

The city's largest fishing harbor is a working port first and a tourist stop second. A row of fish-market buildings sells whatever came in that day, from squid and flounder to crab, and you can have it sliced into sashimi at a nearby hall. Along the outer breakwater is a walking path with views of boats and the open sea, and at night the stalls light up.
Prices are usually by weight and fluctuate with the catch, so ask before the fish is cut. Many vendors take cards, but cash is still handy. Prices and hours may change, and the port is busiest on weekend evenings.
From Sokcho Express Bus Terminal, take a local bus toward Daepo Port, about 25 minutes, or a taxi in around 15. Public parking is next to the market. (Show a driver: 대포항)
