War Memorial of Korea 전쟁기념관
Seoul · Yongsan, Itaewon & Hannam · Museums & exhibits
The War Memorial of Korea tells the history of conflict on the peninsula, from ancient battles through the Korean War and modern peacekeeping. Admission is free, and English labels are provided in the main galleries. Outside, a long open-air exhibition area displays tanks, aircraft and artillery that children may climb near or look at up close.
The building is large, so plan two hours or more. The tone is serious but informative. Hours may change, and the museum closes one weekday.
Getting there
Samgakji Station (삼각지역), Lines 4 and 6, Exit 12, leads straight to the museum entrance.
