Garosu-gil 가로수길
Seoul · Gangnam & COEX · Shopping
Garosu-gil, which means tree-lined street, is a leafy avenue and a cluster of side lanes that has been a fashion and cafe hub for decades. Along the main street you will find flagship stores for global and Korean brands, and the side streets hide boutiques, brunch cafes, dessert shops and art spaces. The mood is more polished than Hongdae but less formal than Cheongdam.
Larger shops offer tax-free service, and staff in many of them speak English, so bring your passport. The area is busy on weekends, and the best cafes may have lines. Shop hours vary and prices may change.
Sinsa Station (신사역), Line 3, Exit 8, is the usual starting point. Walk south along the main avenue.
