Seonjeongneung is a pair of royal tomb groups hidden in a pine forest among the towers of Gangnam, and UNESCO has listed them among the Joseon royal tombs. Two kings and a queen are buried in grassy mounds, and stone guardians, such as soldiers and horses, line the paths. Visitors cannot enter the burial mounds, but the walking trails around the grounds are quiet and shaded.

English leaflets are usually available at the entrance. A small fee applies. The site closes one weekday, and hours and prices may change.

Getting there

Seolleung Station (선릉역), Line 2 and Bundang Line, Exit 8, is a five-minute walk from the entrance.

Early morning, when the forest is calm. Autumn leaves brighten the trails.
