Olympic Park was built for the 1988 Summer Games and has since become a calm green space dotted with sculptures, lawns and old stadiums. One of its famous sights is a single tree on a grassy slope, known as the Lone Tree, which is a favorite for photographers. The wildflower meadow nearby blooms in warm seasons.

Paths are wide and flat for walkers and cyclists, and you can rent a bike at the park. Museums and an art gallery add indoor choices. It is a good place to unwind after a busy week of sightseeing.

The park is large, so allow time for the walk. Events and opening hours of the buildings may change.

Getting there

Olympic Park Station (올림픽공원역), Lines 5 and 9, Exit 3, is a short walk to the gate. The Lone Tree is about twenty minutes inside.
