Haneul Park (Sky Park) 하늘공원
Seoul · Hongdae, Yeonnam & Mangwon · Parks & nature
Haneul Park, whose name means Sky Park, sits on top of a hill that used to be a landfill, and the grass has since turned it into one of the city's most scenic places. In autumn, silver grass fills the slopes with a soft, golden glow, and a festival is held when the grass is at its peak. The climb up is long, with about three hundred steps, but you can also take a small electric shuttle for a fee.
At the top you can look across the Han River and the nearby stadium. Cafes and a few shops are near the entrance. Wear sun protection in summer, and expect wind in winter.
Hours and rides may change, and fees may apply.
World Cup Stadium Station (월드컵경기장역), Line 6 Exit 1, is about a ten-minute walk to the park entrance.
