Jeonju National Museum covers the history and culture of the region, with a focus on Joseon-era scholar culture, ceramics and archaeological finds. Admission has been free and Mondays are closed days. There is also a children's museum that gives families a hands-on space, which is a pleasant surprise for visiting with kids.

English labels are available on many items, but check on site. Allow around 90 minutes and combine it with the neighboring area. The building is air-conditioned, so it also serves as a rainy-day or hot-day retreat.

Getting there

The museum is on the south side of Jeonju, about 20 minutes from the Hanok Village by taxi. Buses also run, and the stop is close to the entrance. (Show a driver: 국립전주박물관)
