Oehalmeoni Solmssi 외할머니솜씨
Jeonju · Hanok Village · Cafe
Oehalmeoni Solmssi is a hanok tea house with a calm, old-fashioned atmosphere, best known for its shaved ice. The signature is red bean shaved ice topped with black sesame powder, creamy and nutty rather than overly sweet. In winter the star switches to hot sweet red-bean porridge with chewy rice dumplings, a comforting treat after strolling in cold air.
Seating is on low floor cushions in some rooms and tables in others, so ask for your preference. Summer afternoons bring waits, so go earlier or later, and prices may change. Menus may not have English, but pointing at photos works fine.
It is in the Hanok Village area, within a short walk of Gyeonggijeon Shrine. Come by bus or taxi to the village and walk the final stretch. (Show a driver: 외할머니솜씨)
