A famous restaurant for abalone stone-pot rice, a dish of rice cooked in a hot pot with chopped abalone, sesame oil and the abalone's innards for a rich flavor. The rice arrives bubbling, and you scrape the crust and eat it with soup afterwards. The restaurant is popular enough that lines are normal, and the staff can seat groups in turn.
Arrive when the doors open or around the mid-afternoon lull for the shortest wait. The menu is short, and ordering is by pointing to the pot rice. The shop is closed on Tuesdays.
Keep a little flexibility for changed hours.
It is on the north-east coast road near Gujwa, about 1 hour by car from Jeju Airport, with parking. Buses toward Seongsan stop on the main road. (Show a driver: 명진전복)
