Hyeopjae Beach 협재해수욕장
Jeju · Aewol & Hallim · Parks & nature
Pale turquoise shallows, fine white sand and a small volcanic island, Biyangdo, just offshore make this one of the most photographed beaches in Jeju. The water stays shallow for a long way out, so it suits families in July and August, while in other months the long sunset views over the island draw the crowds. On the left the beach merges with Geumneung Beach, which is calmer and has fewer cafes.
Behind the sand, a pine grove offers shade, and stalls along the road sell snacks and iced coffee. Swimming is open in the warmer months only. There is no entry charge, though nearby parking lots may have a fee.
Allow about 50 minutes by car from Jeju Airport, with parking lots around the beach. Intercity buses stop near the beach on the west coast route. (Show a driver: 협재해수욕장)
