Handam Coastal Trail & Aewol Cafe Street 한담해안산책로·애월 카페거리
Jeju · Aewol & Hallim · Sights
This is the cafe-and-sea-walk combination that put Aewol on the map. A path of pavement and lava rock follows the coast between Gwakji and Aewol Port for about a kilometer, passing black rocks, tide pools and small coves where the water turns clear green on sunny days. At the Aewol end, the road behind the harbor is lined with cafes and restaurants, many with big windows built to catch the sunset.
Walk first, then pick a seat for the light show, since west-facing tables fill quickly. Cafes come and go here, so check current Naver Map ratings. Wear sturdy shoes; parts of the path are uneven.
From Jeju Airport it is about 25 minutes by car along the north-west coast road. Park at the public lot near Gwakji Beach, or take a local bus toward Aewol and walk from the stop. (Show a driver: 한담해안산책로·애월 카페거리)
