Gyeongju National Museum 국립경주박물관
Gyeongju · Daereungwon, Hwangnidan-gil & Downtown · Museums & exhibits
Home to the treasures of the Silla kingdom, this large museum is the best place to put names to the tombs and temples you see around town. The galleries hold gold crowns, jewelry, Buddhist sculpture and everyday objects, and the outdoor bell pavilion holds the famous Divine Bell of King Seongdeok. A children's museum on site is popular with families but requires advance online booking.
General admission is free and the building closes on Mondays, but hours may change, so check the official site. English labels are generally provided inside; an audio guide may be available, so ask at the desk.
It is a 10-minute walk from Donggung Palace and Wolji Pond, with a city bus stop in front. The parking lot is wide and free. (Show a driver: 국립경주박물관 )
