Hwangnidan-gil Street 황리단길
Gyeongju · Daereungwon, Hwangnidan-gil & Downtown · Sights
What began as a narrow lane of old houses now buzzes with cafes, souvenir shops, small restaurants and vintage stores, all squeezed in beside the tomb walls. It is the most photographed part of Gyeongju, and most visitors come to graze: coffee in a hanok courtyard, a hot snack in hand, and a browse through gift shops. Weekend afternoons get crowded, so ducking into side alleys is a smart move.
Most shops take cards, but street stalls may prefer cash or Korean pay apps, so carry a few bills. Opening hours vary by shop and may change, and queues for the most popular places can run long.
Get off at the Daereungwon stop and walk in, about 10 minutes from the bus terminal. There are public parking lots, but they fill quickly at weekends. (Show a driver: 황리단길)
